Over the past two months, it has been nothing short of exciting and exhausting with our precious little girl, Madeline! Of course, as a chiropractic kid, she has been getting adjusted weekly since birth to optimize her health and happiness. We just wanted to share one of her adjustment sessions with you and how much she likes being adjusted by mom!
I see a lot of children for adjustments/spinal alignments to enhance their ability to function in a greater state of health. The birthing process, falls while learning to walk, sports, heavy backpacks, sitting in class all day and a number of other events add stress to their spines.
The International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA) is in charge of documenting the expertise of chiropractic care with children’s subluxations and their wide array of co-morbidities. In their research they advocate wellness chiropractic care for children because “many spinal problems seen in adults began as early as birth.”
Dr. Ohm, D.C. states that ”the Doctor of Chiropractic will take a case history and perform a chiropractic exam to determine if spinal subluxations exist. Chiropractic adjusting procedures are modified to fit a child’s size, weight, and unique spinal condition. They are both gentle and specific to the child’s developing spinal structures. Most parents report that their children enjoy their chiropractic adjustments and look forward to subsequent visits. They also report that their children experience a greater level of health while under regular chiropractic care.
If you’re not sure whether your child has a spinal subluxation, Dr. Stacey Dent, D.C., offers complimentary scoliosis screenings and consultations to see if your child could benefit from chiropractic care.
