There are currently no known treatments for COVID-19 at this time. Our best offense is an impeccable defense. HBCC is committed to doing our part to “flatten the curve” by following the CDC Public Health Guidelines.
Our dedication is to provide services and care to improve your daily active living.
Our staff will be practicing extreme sanitary measures within our office to ensure HBCC is a safe and sanitary place for you and your family. Below are the precautionary measures we are taking:
We continue to ensure tables are properly sanitized between each patient adjustment. Additionally we are cleaning other contact surfaces such as our instruments, counter tops, chairs, doorknobs, etc. after each patient visit.
Spacing out of appointment times for acute care patients at this time while observing a 6' distance.
Staff will be wearing face masks during your visit.
If you have a fever we will send you home to call your general practitioner for further evaluation. We will not adjust you. Thank you for understanding.
Public toys will not be available during this time, so you are encouraged to bring your child’s favorite toy.
Patients are able to call from the parking lot upon arrival and will be notified by Rebecca when the doctor is ready for them. This avoids time in the waiting room.
We will have you swipe your own credit card for payment. You may also call and read your payment information to us over the phone.
If planning to use a check, you are encouraged to have it previously filled out, or if you need a pen, we have one at the front desk that is wiped down in between every use.
Sanitizer stations will be available in each room.
We have a UV air filter in the office to help combat bacteria and viruses from our air.
Delivery services will be asked to leave all deliveries outside the front door.
Due to limited appointment times from cleaning and observing proper distancing, etc, if you would like more one on one time with the doctor, we can do a phone consultation upon request.
Remember a good offense to this virus is building a good defense. We are dedicated to the safety and well-being of our patients and their loved ones.
If you are experiencing a cough/fever, you may cancel your appointment with no cancellation fee.
Please stay home if you are expressing symptoms or if you have recently traveled to an area of concern. Of course, in the event of a quarantine, you should follow the guidelines and regulations set forth by our city, county, state and federal governments. If a quarantine goes into effect, please know that our office staff will contact you to reschedule existing appointments.
We thank you for remaining calm & vigilant during this season and for your dedication to your health and well-being. Thank you for choosing Harbor Bay Chiropractic.
Chiropractic is an Essential Health Care Service
(*** Adapted from the International Chiropractic Association)
March 16, 2020 (Falls Church, VA) In these challenging times associated with the COVID-19 Pandemic, the International Chiropractors Association (ICA) is issuing a statement reaffirming chiropractic as an essential healthcare service. Everyone is under extraordinary levels of stress. Chiropractic Services represent an essential and necessary component of the health care program of millions of patients of all ages and all walks of life in the United States and worldwide. Timely and consistent access to chiropractic care is essential to the maintenance of the health and wellbeing of this patient population, particularly during times of stress.
It is important to recognize that as of mid-March 2020, there are no recognized cures in conventional medicine or alternative health approaches for COVID-19. There are no vaccines, no drugs, no natural remedies, no alternative therapies that have been tested and the outcomes peer reviewed to meet any evidence-based standard. The public has the right to seek their own pathway to health and well-being. For millions of Americans, that pathway includes regular chiropractic care. For individuals such as those recovering from injury or suffering back pain, chiropractic care is essential on their road to recovery.
Chiropractic is an Essential Health Care Service
(*** Adapted from ChiroFutures Malpractice Insurance)
It is the position of ChiroFutures Malpractice Insurance Program (and HBCC) that chiropractic is an essential health care service. Chiropractors are an essential and necessary part of the health care team for millions of patients of all ages around the world. Chiropractors are trained and licensed in all 50 states to enforce and follow all public health regulations while acting in the best interests of the public and patients they serve.
Chiropractors are the only health care providers trained and licensed to provide care for the neuromusculoskeletal ramifications from structural spinal shifts that cause obstruction of the nervous system which impact the whole health and vitality of the individual. Chiropractors refer to these structural spinal shifts as vertebral subluxations.
Chiropractors have provided these essential health services for over 100 years and have done so during pandemics, natural disasters and following terrorist attacks such as 911 at Ground Zero.
ChiroFutures Malpractice Insurance Program embraces patient autonomy where health care decisions are made through an open, patient centered and evidence informed process. Health care decisions should be made based on evidence, consistency with the patient's values and with the help of a health care provider that honors their wishes. This is a truly patient centered, informed consent process that everyone is entitled to in regards to their health.
